In this day and age of violence and negativity, I find it refreshing to see a young man loving on the people in his life. So imagine my excitement to witness and capture TWO young men loving on a very special woman-their grandmother! This recent “grads with gran” session was one of my favorite shoots to date. Growing up without grandmothers, I always love to watch the interactions between grands (grandchildren with their grandparents). The wisdom and tenderness of the elder and the inquisitiveness and admiration of the youngin’ is a sight to behold.
The week of this session was filled with rain, so we were all watching the forecast closely. But thanks to some prayer and crossed fingers, the weather was perfect. In addition, everyone showed up on time and the fake laughs turned into genuine moments of fun (which is what I always hope and pray for). Ms. Brenda, Drew, and Hunter were the cutest trio. We even captured a few moments with their aunt, Toni. They were all ready to pose, followed directions well, and were all around good sports.
Drew, recently earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at The University of Louisville and plans to one day own a whole body wellness center. Hunter recently earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Fine Arts at Western Kentucky University and has plans for the stage in New York City. After meeting these young men, I have no doubt they will reach and exceed their goals.
Thank you guys for allowing me to capture these sweet moments between you and your grandmother. Your relationship with her is one to cherish and hold to dearly. Good luck in all of your future endeavors, and I can’t wait to watch to see what you guys achieve in the future.
