Emily and Kyle

Posted in: Real Weddings

“What God has joined together…”

The officiant gave these five words of advice to my latest married couple, Emily and Kyle, during their wedding ceremony. He wanted them to understand that since God has placed them together as husband and wife, nothing or no one on Earth should be able to break that bond.

And what a special bond that is.

From our first meeting to the engagement photo session to their first touch on their wedding day, during the ceremony and throughout the rest of the night, it has been evident to me that these two are crazy in love and will do anything to make each other happy. The smile that spreads across Kyle’s face when he is in Emily’s presence. OH BOY! It shows his adoration and complete head-over-heels love for her. And Emily wholeheartedly shares that sentiment.

Emily and Kyle’s wedding was set in Caneyville, Kentucky at The Pine Knot Barn, a beautiful and peaceful setting in the middle of nowhere it seems. Once you make it to the property, you feel transformed to another time, yet with modern conveniences. The grounds were lush and massive. The main barn space is beautiful, even without decor. Once decorated, though, it was the perfect setting for a sophisticated event, with a natural, earthy background.

As the beautiful Emily was getting dressed in her gorgeous lace gown, her mom shed tears of joy-tears she had been shedding all week leading up to this moment. Her kind, intelligent, loving, and stunningly gorgeous daughter was getting married. Yes, of course she loves the sweet and gentle Kyle, but her daughter was leaving to become a wife. Oh, and the first look with Emily and her dad…was no different.

Emily and Kyle tied the cord of three strands during their sweet and engaging outdoor ceremony, and the officiant gave them time to slow down, turn to their audience of loved ones and take in the moment. Right there in the middle of the ceremony. I thought that was pretty cool and memorable, especially for the bride and groom who usually are too busy on the day to take in the beauty of the event.

During the fun and lively reception, guests filled their bellies with delicious food from BBOYS BBQ (Emily’s parents’ establishment that offers catering for large and small events) and were ready to bust a move! The best man and maid of honor gave loving words of congratulations and affirmation to the couple. Emily’s mom lovingly expressed how the couple should cherish and hold on to the good moments, because they will be the bridge to get over the challenging times to more good days. And let me not forget Emily’s brother, who humorously gave Kyle five more words of advice.

“Yes, Emily, you’re always right!”

Emily and Kyle, like most couples, participated in the ceremonial cutting of the cake, but they are the first couple to

SMASH EACH OTHER’S FACES WITH IT!

Reason number 37 why I LOVE THEM!

Toward the end of the night, the families of this sweet couple had the most endearing circle of love (that’s what I’m calling it). All of the family members gathered in a circle, arm in arm around Emily and Kyle. They danced as one in the circle and sang, as the couple danced closely in the center. This was perhaps one of the sweetest things I have ever seen a family do. This shows the love and support the couple have from those closest to them.

Emily and Kyle, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to come down to the country to be a part of your wedding day. Your wedding day was absolutely amazing, and your family and friends are so much fun. You guys are a couple of the sweetest people I know, and I know you guys will be together forever. Hopefully, there will be some little Travises running around soon for me to photograph!
