Falling for the Season: Capturing Kelsey, Aaron, and the Boys’ 2024 Family Session

Fall in Louisville has this unique charm—a golden hour that feels just a little warmer, leaves that turn their brightest hues, and a gentle breeze that invites families to cozy up together. On a recent weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kelsey, Aaron, and their two adorable little boys at one of the beautiful local parks in the city. The weather was perfect, the light was magical, and the energy? Thanks to those boys, we were all laughing the whole way through!

This was actually my third session with Kelsey and Aaron, and let me tell you, repeat clients like them are a true joy. Kelsey and Aaron have an easygoing warmth that makes every session feel natural and fun. Kelsey was the ultimate mom, making her boys laugh in that way only a mom can. And Aaron, a true sports fan, kept sneaking quick updates on his phone about the game (it’s fall, so I’ll take a wild guess it was football…but please don’t ask me who was playing!). Between game checks, he was right in the action, lifting the boys over his shoulder and getting the giggles.

Speaking of those boys, they’re full of energy and personality! They know how to have fun and keep everyone on their toes, with endless energy, silly faces, and those hilarious “inside jokes” that only brothers can share. They lit up every shot, from playful grass-tossing to the sweet moments with mom and dad and the time I felt like I was working with professional models. Watching them grow and capturing their spunk and spirit each year is such a gift.

In the end, we captured a collection of photos that truly tell their family’s story—full of warmth, laughter, and love. It’s families like Kelsey and Aaron’s that remind me why I love what I do.
