I overheard this sentiment, expressed by a young child as she and her parents left the reception and thought to myself, “She is so right!” I can say a lot of great things about LaPorsha and Jamayle’s wedding, but the first to come to mind would be that they sure know how to party!
This particular wedding took place at the Muhammad Ali Center, a museum dedicated to Louisville’s most notable figure-the GOAT. From the time we arrived until night’s end, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. They went above and beyond to accommodate the couple, the attendees, and even other vendors. This is NOT the case at all venues.
If you have followed me for any amount of time, you may remember this couple and notice a theme. You see, a set of their engagement photos included them boxing it out in front of a mural of Ali in downtown Louisville. The couple takes up boxing as a hobby and so naturally it fit right into their wedding plans.
Jamayle and LaPorsha both looked stunning on their big day. She elegantly graced a Maggie Sottero gown and he was decked out in an ivory and gold ensemble from J. Allen Formalwear. I have to say they are one of the jazziest couples I’ve met to date!
The ceremony was straightforward, yet extremely sentimental and sweet. During the vow exchange, Jamayle expressed how he had never thought of marriage in his future until LaPorsha came into his life and she shared how they challenge each other to be their personal best. Not only did the two vow their love and faithfulness to one another; they also expressed their love and devotion to being the best parents possible to their precious newborn daughter.
Wedding guests toured the museum during cocktail hour, which I thought was pretty neat and made for a unique wedding experience.
The Ali Center reception space provided a spectacular backdrop for the celebration. Millenium Events did their thing with the decor, while the sun setting over the Ohio River added to the ambiance of the event. The father-daughter dance was upbeat and totally “YouTube-able” but the showstopper was LaPorsha’s sweet grandfather. He shed several tears as he swirled his darling granddaughter around the dance floor. Jamayle and LaPorsha partied the night away with their family and friends, thanks to DJ Cam who stacked the tracks continuously.
LaPorsha and Jamayle, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. It was a beautiful day filled with love and joy from beginning to end. I pray that the two of you continue to laugh with and love on each other for many years to come. Congratulations!
Shannon
