Andrea and Alex Wedding

Posted in: Real Weddings

“A cord of three strands is not easily broken.”

This verse, taken from the book of Ecclesiastes, states that two people are stronger than one when it comes to withstanding trials and opposition. Then, the verse goes on to explain that even stronger than two people are three. When God is the third person, that cord cannot be broken.

This was the theme of Andrea and Alex’s wedding and will be the theme of their marriage. They vowed to keep God at the center of their lives-to guide their decisions and to order their steps.

When I arrived at the venue, Millanova Winery, I had no clue what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised at the sprawling hills and cute little nooks, both inside and out. It is a working winery, literally in the middle of a subdivision in Mt. Washington, Kentucky. Once you enter the grounds, however, you are temporarily transformed to a peaceful piece of countryside that could have easily been set in Napa Valley or a small villa in Italy. This lush greenery and growing vines paired with the yellow and red decor set the stage for the touching nuptials between Andrea and Alex.

There were several special moments during the getting ready period, one of which I have to share. Sweet Andrea gifted her soon to be husband with a special pin. This pin was adorned with photos of Alex’s mother and father, who are now deceased. It was a unique way to include his parents in the wedding day, worn right there on his lapel, near his heart. The pin was presented to Alex by his uncle, which made the moment all the more special.

Although the temperature reached a scorching 90 degrees by ceremony time and the wind threatened to demolish the table settings, the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. These lovebirds were just happy to finally tie the knot in front of their friends and family. Then to get the party started! Delicious food Southern Lady’s Catering filled guests’ bellies, wine from the winery quenched thirsts, and DJ JohnQ kept the dance floor hopping with back to back tunes, from old school to today’s top hits. And to top it off, cupcakes by Lisa Smith were delicious!

Andrea and Alex, thank you for bestowing upon me the honor of capturing your wedding day through the lens of my camera. It was an absolute pleasure to meet and get to know you and your family. You are all a beautiful couple, and as long as you keep that third cord at the center of your life, I have no doubt that you will live happily ever after.

Love,

Shannon
