After photographing several weddings, there are few things that truly surprise me. I don’t want to say, “I’ve seen it all,” because I know that there is so much I have not seen in the two years I have been a wedding industry professional. However, the wedding of my latest SDP couple had me dropping my jaw.
The day started out much like any other wedding, getting photos of the details. Danielle had two beautiful dresses, one for the ceremony and the other for the reception. The atrium of the venue (The Jeffersonian) had a beautiful wall of wainscoting that served as a perfect backdrop for photos, so it was used a lot.
Danielle was drop dead gorgeous in her fit and flare gown that had bling for days. Her hair was styled to perfection and her makeup was without flaw. Her bridesmaids made sure she had everything she needed (including a nerve-calming libation) in order to make it through the day. They gathered around her, lotioning her arms, gliding on her shoes, and making sure every layer of her dress was in place. The bridal suite was a lively and emotional preview of what would soon come during the rest of the day.
Terrence arrived, cool as a cucumber, with his boys. They were lively and fun, posing for days in front of the camera. At one point, Terrence said after I see the photos, I will want to pay him for them. If you know this groom, you know I’m not exaggerating. He will not shy away from a photo and believes he could be the next top male model.
In all honesty, though, Danielle and Terrence could be the next top model couple. Oh, and their girls-GORGEOUS! So maybe I should say they could be the next top model family!
As Danielle walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father, I glanced (as I always do) at the groom. This is the jaw-dropping moment. I did not expect to see what I saw. Yep. You guessed it. Terrence was crying. Tears were streaming down his face as he watched the love of his life walk toward him to become his wife. What a special moment! The rest of the ceremony was just as sweet and included a sand ceremony to solidify the joining of their families.
Once the ceremony was over, Danielle changed into her blinged out silver party dress. It was PARTY time! This was the most lit reception I have been to in awhile. The dance floor was never empty and the music was fire. The most memorable thing about the reception, though, was a heartfelt mother daughter dance. Danielle and her three daughters were so cute as they danced face-to-face as the adoring audience looked on.
Danielle and Terrence, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your big day. Everything was beautiful, and I pray you guys continue to love one another as you have and live a full and happy life forever!
