Charnita & Eugene

Posted in: Real Weddings

Ladies, how many of you can say that your dad found your significant other? Any of your pops play matchmaker for you and your boo?

(Insert CRICKET chirps here)

I didn’t think so.

Usually, daddies find pleasure in scaring off whomever attempts to sneak into their daughters’ hearts. Whether it is toting rifles during date introductions or using mere size to intimidate suiters, one of the main jobs of a father is to shoo away all potential mates for his baby girls. Well, for Charnita, her dad actually brought her to the love of her life. Eugene first spotted this petite beauty at the medical facility where Charnita’s dad was receiving treatment. It was love at first sight for both of them. Her dad is now gone on to be with the Lord, but he is smiling down with rays of approval on this sweet and loving couple.

I had the pleasure and honor to photograph this couple’s wedding day from getting ready to the reception. The groom was dapper in his blue and white tuxedo, and the bride was a vision in her fit-and-flare gown with ruffled bottom and jeweled belt. The ceremony was short yet personal and sweet, and both the ceremony and reception spaces were decorated beautifully.  Boy, oh boy…the cake display—MASSIVE!  Don’t get me started on the reception…can we say PAR-TAY? The music was great–I even found myself bopping my head from time to time. The party was still going strong when I left, and I know everyone there had a blast (the Soul Train Line alone was worth burning those cake calories)!

While getting ready, the bride snuck in a phone call to her groom. I overheard her whisper, “I can’t wait to marry you today.” It was the SWEETEST THING EVER! From that call to the look on Eugene’s face as he saw his bride for the first time, it was evident that these two belong together. Happiness radiated from their every move, and I have no doubt that they will forever call each other husband and wife.
